The symbol for Pisces is two fish tied together. In ancient Greek mythology this represents Aphrodite and Eros who put their spirits into the bodies of two fish in order to escape Typhoon, the largest and most fearsome of all creatures. The fish tied their tails together that Aphrodite and Eros, mother and son, would not be separated. Zeus eventually captures and subdues Typhoon. The goddess Aphrodite, in deep appreciation to the two fish who saved her and her son, placed them in the heavens as the constellation Pisces.
